The Team
Jessica Armstrong
Take 10 Arvo's Youth Coordinator
Jess has a background in the events and hospitality industry with a focus on operations, planning, and community engagement.
She is energetic and fun-loving and enjoys cooking, arts, music, and the occasional horse ride (she has a softness for all animals!). A good day for Jess is when she comes home dirty or covered in flour or paint!
She is passionate about creating a good positive culture that fosters engagement, inclusion, creativity, and leadership. Jess has recently joined the VSCT as the Youth Coordinator but has been involved with the VSCT for a number of years.
She has been involved in Do Some Good Volunteer Days, food box deliveries and the occasional stint on the late-night Take 10 Support Zone.
Jess is originally from New Mexico, has lived in the UK, and has been in New Zealand (which is now home) for over thirteen years. She loves to travel and study, eat, create and have an overall good time. Her New Zealand family is comprised of Jess, her Australian partner, two cats, and her wonderful foster daughter. She also has 2 nieces in the states who she loves to spoil and spend time with.
Leigh Keown
(✉)
VSCT Operations Manager
Leigh takes charge of the day-to-day running of both Take 10 and Do Some Good. Having watched and supported the Trust’s journey with Clint since its conception, it’s exciting for Leigh to be on board.
Knowing VSCT is making a real impact in the lives of young kiwis, is what excites Leigh. There isn’t anything better than seeing a smile on a kids face and knowing you help put it there.
Leigh has a 11-year-old daughter, and an 18-year-old stepson.
Jordan Clark
Do Some Good Team Member
Jordan is a Wellingtonian through and through. He loves going for walks around the hills or coasts, and dabbling in hobbies like piano, creative writing, badminton, and he has recently taken up knitting. His interests include conservation work as well as other areas that rely on volunteers.
Jordan’s work background is in hospitality, having studied to start a journey to become a chef. His time in a rest-home kitchen changed his mind as the stress of that role had lasting effects on his physical and mental health.
Through volunteering Jordan was introduced to Leigh and given the opportunity to work for VSCT and Do Some Good. Jordan enjoys being on the road delivering food to schools and kindergartens right across Wellington, meeting like-minded and wonderfully friendly people in the community and the VSCT family, but most of all Jordan is glad to be providing a basic necessity to those who too often go without. Jordan believes it falls on those of us who can afford food to provide for those that can’t.
”This is exactly the sort of work I want to be doing, I’ve had a blast so far (even on the rainy days), and I hope to be able to do more good for the people of Wellington in the near future”
